Which law of motion is illustrated by each of the following cases?

a. a person jumps to a dock from a boat, the boat moves away from the dock

b. a galloping horse comes to a sudden stop. Its rider is thrown over the head of the horse and lands on the ground.

c. a pingpong ball accelerates faster than a golf ball when hit with the same force.Which law of motion is illustrated by each of the following cases?
a) Third law of motion

b) Law of inertia (1st law of motion)

c) 2nd law of motionWhich law of motion is illustrated by each of the following cases?
a.) The third law of motion. The force that pushed the boy forward to the dock led to an equal and opposite force pushing the boat away from the dock.

b.) The first law of motion. When the horse stopped, there was little force to prevent the rider from continuing to move at the horse's velocity until gravity stepped in and slowed him down, causing him to eventually fall. The First Law states an object at rest stays at rest and a moving object continues to move at the same velocity, unless (in both cases) an external force changes that.

c.) The second law of motion. The Second Law states that force is proportional to the rate of change of momentum, which translates to the fact that acceleration is inversely proportional to mass when force is constant. The ping-pong ball has less mass than the golf ball, and so the ping-pong ball will accelerate faster with the same force as the golf ball.
